EDUWEB College has incorporated stringent monitoring methods to ensure the effectiveness and success of student learning.  As part of our strategic objective, EDUWEB College intends to conduct tracer studies through the dispersion of questionnaires and surveys to present and past students and employers to ascertain our contribution to the academic achievements of our students.  The College would also employ several methods for monitoring student learning outcomes which are detailed below.

Curriculum-Based Monitoring

This form of monitoring is standardized and uses the materials presented over the course of the entire year as a way to effectively and accurately monitoring student progress and lecturers’ teaching methods.  Lecturers use the College’s online question bank system to generate tests to gain insight into how well each student is understanding and learning.  If the student grade rises throughout the duration of the course then the lecturer would know that the teaching methods are effective and the student is learning.  If the grade drops, then the teacher will make adjustments where necessary. The grade  sheet report received from external markers are also reviewed and form part of the monitoring process.

Frequent Evaluation

Frequent evaluations that chart student progress can positively impact how students view themselves as learners. Frequent evaluation though feedback and student interactions can pinpoint areas where a student needs additional help or a different type of instruction to achieve successful learning.  Successful learning improves the student’s self-esteem and motivation to continue to participate in the educational experience.  Lecturers in collaboration with the Programme Managers can monitor student progress to evaluate how well the learners retain the skills and concepts learned.  Various monitoring tools available at the College would be used including:

  • Learner management system
  • Student feedback forms,
  • Online forum and discussion boards.

Observation and Interaction

Individual interaction between lecturer, student, and Programme Managers provides opportunities to evaluate progress and retention.  This interaction can also provide the student with an opportunity to evaluate his/ her own progress and communicate any concerns or needs.

A joint review by lecturers and the academic staff of the student’s written work will facilitate an accurate evaluation of progress, or lack thereof, and provide valuable suggestions for adapting instruction to meet the student’s needs. The college staff will supply the student with clear targets for progress and enable the student to map a path to success.  Positive feedback provides the student with valuable motivation and encouragement that can change the student’s self-perception from a negative outlook to a positive one.

We are an education institution built from the ground up to provide an exceptional experience to anyone willing to learn.
